caribbean queen(s)
as fall is getting darker and colder memories like these warm my soul. almost a year ago by now, still in fond memory also for the two little queens.

camouflage
in its natural environment, mother nature did a good job with the camouflage.
the butterfly effect
is what we call the uncontrollable instinct any photographer gets when a butterfly passes by, to grab a camera and with bent back run after the ever moving colorful little creature. this one at least had the curtesy to be still for a second! now i need a rest and some water…
i believe this a swallowtail of some sort, potentially a pipevine swallowtail, if anyone knows and can enlighten me – please do!
a new species found!
this is sensational, i have discovered an until now unknown species, a relative to the praying mantis (mantis religiosa) which i have named conducting mantis (mantis conductae). call national geographic…

castle in the gray
outside doolin this fantasy castle resides on a hill, surrounded by flowers and green green grass. couldn’t get closer as it was private property, but at least it made good ground for fantasies…
