(no humans or tripods were hurt during the making of this picture)
interesting to follow the aftermath of snowden and nsa. we now have young and what you thought well educated people publicly announcing their abandoning of facebook and other social media as a mean of communication with their friends. especially when they conclude that they will rather use mobile phone calls and text messaging instead….
better watch out for the spies in the wires!
our trip to iceland was photography almost 24/7, a day shooting the amazing icelandic nature followed by shooting coming stars at the iceland airwaves festival could end in another hour or two shooting real stars. not a lot of sleep, but it paid off – i’ve never seen the nordic lights, or aurora borealis, before. not only a check mark in my book, but a moment to remember. and then we saw red, rainbow shaped, and more ordinary green auroras.
the last picture goes left to right from yoko ono’s light installation “imagine peace” in reykjavik over a star struck sky to the faint beginning of an aurora borealis.
one of my own favorites found during the archeological investigations of the attic… again tuscany where the fields of blooming sun flowers are just amazing. and the italian name for sun flower, girasole, literally means turning with the sun. beautiful!
supposedly a south american flower, this much i remember. direction is anyway up, there is no doubt. keep me lifted, spearhead.
