i’m old enough to remember backpacking in a world without cellphones and text messaging, when you had to get coins and then find a phone booth to call home and tell you are still safe and sound. who needs phone booths nowadays? i hope no one needs this one in an emergency situation.
We were backpacking in those days too – it was too expensive to call so we wrote letters and got replies to “poste restante” when we got to the next city. That seems funny now.
Yeah, you didn’t make too many calls in a months time… 🙂 ah, those days!
